There being a great quantity of vapour in the atmosphere at the time, permitted the eye to look at it with impunity.—J.D.R. ## METEOROLOGICAL JOURNAL FOR MAY AND JUNE, 1839. ### 9 o'clock, A.M. | Flint Glass | Crown Glass | |------------|-------------| | W | 29.986 | | T | 29.948 | | F | 29.976 | | S | 29.832 | | G | 29.686 | | M | 29.946 | | T | 30.066 | | W | 29.894 | | T | 29.872 | | F10 | 29.864 | | S11 | 30.160 | | O12 | 30.044 | | O13 | 29.920 | | T14 | 29.548 | | W15 | 29.386 | | T16 | 29.556 | | F17 | 30.020 | | S18 | 30.124 | | O19 | 30.066 | | M20 | 30.248 | | T21 | 30.188 | | W22 | 30.004 | | T23 | 30.156 | | F24 | 29.946 | | S25 | 30.120 | | O26 | 30.216 | | M27 | 30.230 | | T28 | 30.250 | | W29 | 30.212 | | T30 | 30.090 | | F31 | 30.008 | ### 3 o'clock, P.M. | Flint Glass | Crown Glass | |------------|-------------| | W | 29.978 | | T | 29.944 | | F | 29.970 | | S | 29.824 | | G | 29.682 | | M | 29.940 | | T | 30.060 | | W | 29.886 | | T | 29.866 | | F10 | 29.856 | | S11 | 30.152 | | O12 | 30.046 | | O13 | 29.914 | | T14 | 29.540 | | W15 | 29.382 | | T16 | 29.550 | | F17 | 30.016 | | S18 | 30.118 | | O19 | 30.058 | | M20 | 30.240 | | T21 | 30.180 | | W22 | 29.966 | | T23 | 30.150 | | F24 | 29.938 | | S25 | 30.114 | | O26 | 30.210 | | M27 | 30.223 | | T28 | 30.242 | | W29 | 30.204 | | T30 | 30.082 | | F31 | 30.009 | ### External Thermometers. | Fahrenheit | Self-registering | |------------|------------------| | 9 A.M. | | | 3 P.M. | | ### REMARKS. - **A.M.** Fine—light wind throughout the day.
