I take this opportunity to acquaint you with a strange phenomenon of the lake Ontario, where general Shirley has posted himself with two thousand men, at fort Oswego. A person lately come from the camp reports, that about a fortnight since, that lake rose and fell five feet and half, three several times, in the space of half an hour. I wish I could send you a more particular account of it.
